Bone Lock & Standalone PreviewSeptember 11, 2026

New

  • Preview in the standalone Keyframe Editor shows the clip in 3D under the timeline, so two editors side by side can show two different characters. See Live preview.
  • Add takes another bone into a running Bone Lock, so both feet can be held in one lock. See Adding bones as you go.
  • A Weight slider over the Bone Lock buttons sets how strongly the lock holds, live on the figure. See How much of it to keep.

Improved

  • Grab works on 2D characters made of SpriteRenderers: pressing a sprite pulls the joint it hangs on, within the picture plane. See Grab.
  • The scroll wheel sets the IK chain length while the pointer is on the chain or its gizmo, during the drag as well.
  • Hold pins a toe or a fingertip as well, and says up front when a bone has too little above it to fold.
  • The preview in the Workbench keeps running during Pose Edit and Scene Edit (previously "Preview paused").
  • All five keyframe styles apply in Lite (previously Default only). Mixing your own colours stays Pro.
  • A gear in the Workbench toolbar opens the settings.
  • Searching and filtering do far less work in large projects, and the Rule Manager no longer rebuilds itself on every mouse move.
  • Clips from glTF, Maya and OBJ files count as coming from a model everywhere: they group under a header in the browser and match the "inside a model" rule.

Changed

  • Bone Lock holds the bones you selected instead of the whole IK chain they sit on, and Hold names the one bone it anchors.
  • Hold draws its ring where the bone is held instead of on the bone, so the gap shows whether the lock still reaches.
  • Selecting another clip in the browser no longer ends a running Pose Edit session - it stays on its clip.
  • The Character button of the standalone Keyframe Editor moves into its preview toolbar, next to Loop and Speed.

Fixed

  • Fixed menus, list labels, the browser search field, the audio windows, the Rig Edit overlay and the Keyframe Editor's value column keeping the previous theme or font until the editor reloaded.
  • Sorting by a value many clips share, such as events, uses or frame count, no longer reshuffles the list on every refresh.
  • Sorting by "Updated" places clips without a readable file timestamp the same way in both panels.
  • Searching inside a dropdown now finds entries in its submenus.
  • The version badge on a thumbnail now updates when a version is created or deleted (previously only after reopening the Workbench).
  • Thumbnails now regenerate after a change to resolution, background, zoom or camera distance.
  • Fixed one clip that failed to frame leaving every following thumbnail at the fallback camera distance.
  • Bone Lock no longer flickers during playback.
  • Clicking a layer while a Bone Lock is running no longer cancels it.
  • Fixed Grab taking hold beside the cursor on characters scaled other than 1, such as inch-based FBX files.
  • Changing the pull depth mid-grab on a Humanoid no longer lets part of the pose snap back on release.
  • An IK chain on a 2D sprite character that stood straight no longer bends toward the camera.
  • Clicking or dragging in the preview no longer grabs a keyframe behind it.
